About

Prior to identifying insects and spiders to the genus and species level, it is necessary to first determine the order of the specimen. The Orders key allows you to do that. Based on that identification the reader can proceed directly to key responding to the order selected. The Orders key to includes the most common and economically important orders occurring in West African rice fields. The key consists of 11 arthropod orders and allows you to identify a specimen to one of the following insect orders: Lepidoptera, Diptera, Odonata, Dermaptera, Strepsiptera, Orthoptera, Mantodea, Coleoptera, Hemiptera and Hymenoptera, and the spider order, Araneae.
